Based in Brisbane, David joins as a Product Manager, specialising in Professional Indemnity and Cyber. Known for his problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach, he is already making significant contributions to Delta’s growing Australian portfolio.
From Code to Cover: David’s Journey to Underwriting
David’s professional journey is anything but conventional. While studying IT and preparing for a full-time career in the Defence Force, David found himself accepting a temporary role in finance. That entry point ultimately led him to participate in the formation of an underwriting agency specialising in the healthcare sector, and soon after, to secure a pivotal role at a large insurer, where he specialised in PI, Management Liability, and Cyber for SME clients.
Over the past nine years, David has honed his expertise in corporate underwriting, managing complex financial lines risks for both listed and large unlisted entities. In his most recent role, he was responsible for underwriting across the full financial lines spectrum, including Directors & Officers, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, and Management Liability, while successfully growing and leading the Queensland portfolio.
In a twist of irony, David joined the Defence Force Reserves, transforming what was originally intended as his full-time career into a part-time commitment while underwriting remained at the forefront of his professional journey.
A Legacy of Impact
Throughout his career, David has earned a reputation for being more than just technically proficient - he’s a supportive mentor and a trusted presence in the industry. While he is proud of his various professional and personal achievements, what stands out most for him is the human element.
“The biggest measure for me is how I’ve made other people feel along the way,” he says “I’d like to think that during this time I’ve been a good listener to up-and-coming professionals and been able to share some of my knowledge with them.”

Beyond the Desk
Outside of the office, David is a proud dad and committed partner to his fiancée, Ricci. He stays active with regular sessions at the gym and makes the most of his downtime outdoors, whether it’s hitting a walking trail, heading to the beach, or catching up with close friends over thoughtful conversation.
